Industrial and agricultural settling basins
Slurry lagoons, wastewater pre-settling tanks, abattoir basins, food-industry sludge lagoons. Loss of storage capacity, odour, regulatory pressure — three solutions in different proportions. The site conditions decide which one you need.
There are three solution paths for treating industrial and agricultural settling basins — often in combination. The choice is not a matter of taste: the homogeneity of the sludge, the inorganic contaminant load and the regulatory environment together dictate it.
Three solution paths
- Purely biological treatment — where the contents are homogeneous organic matter (slurry, food-industry sludge). Reduces volume, neutralises odour, executable during ongoing operation.
- Purely mechanical extraction — where the sludge is dense or loaded with inorganic contaminants. Hydromechanical pumping with on-site dewatering.
- Combined solution — the most common. Biological treatment first on the active upper layer, then dredging of the compacted lower layer.
