Biological lake and sludge treatment
Biological treatment doesn’t close the lake — it stays fishable, swimmable and harvestable throughout. Our record is 24 cm of sludge thickness reduction in a single treated year, and this can be repeated sustainably for decades.
Biological sludge treatment is the alternative — and often the complement — to classical mechanical dredging. In live-culture treatment, bacterial strains and enzyme complexes introduced into the water break down the organic fraction of the sludge, the natural oxygen cycle is restored, and within a few months the layer thickness is already measurably reduced.
In a climate context: biological treatment is a nature-based solution (NBS), fully aligned with the expectations of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation (2024). For municipal and conservation tenders, it is a key reference point.
What we do
- In-house developed, live-culture biological reagent kits
- Dosing schedule tuned to the size and condition of the lake
- 1–7 applications per year, depending on intensity
- Reagent concentration and outcome monitoring
- Partial or full programme tailored to the client’s objective
Typical use cases
Angling lake, swimming lake, ornamental lake, fish pond, protected area, industrial settling basin (as complementary treatment).
