Iszapfaló started in 2006 with field experiments. In 2008 we entered the market with our own biological reagents. Every year since, we’ve added something: a new machine, a new process, a new country, a new product.

I’m Gergely Kovásznai-Szász, Managing Director of Iszapfaló Kft. With my colleagues we hold one very specific goal in mind: that there be a partner in Hungary one can call confidently about a lake or sludge issue — whether or not there is money on the table for a job, and whether the call is a question or a commission.
Over the past twenty years we’ve learned the most from our worst decisions. That’s why every new project starts with measurement, then planning, and only then does equipment move. We launched the LakeMind club to make this way of working — measure, document, decide on numbers — available to every lake operator, not only on Iszapfaló’s own projects. 2006
Iszapfaló Kft. is founded in Gödöllő, starting with biological water treatment experiments.
2008
First in-house developed biological reagent kits enter the market.
2014
First large-scale biological treatment in a wastewater plant environment.
2015
Continuous presence and treatment programmes at Lake Balaton.
2017
Our in-house developed automated floating dredger goes into service.
2021
Design and installation of the first floating solar project.
2023
EFS Bioremedia DOO is established in Subotica, led by Róbert Berta.
2024–2025
Building the ECOMUD Group s.r.o. presence in Slovakia.
2026
LakeMind launches — AI agents for Hungarian lakes connected through a central Orchestrator. New website cluster (iszapfalo.hu, bioremedia.rs, ecomud.eu, lakemind.club).
Group
Over twenty years Iszapfaló has grown from a Hungarian company into a regional group. The three member firms work with the same methods, equipment and quality standards — and reallocate capacity between each other when seasonal peaks call for it.

The group’s Hungarian parent, headquartered in Gödöllő. The central workshop, the Mudbirds geotextile facility and the R&D base are all here. Full-scope lake and industrial sludge treatment, geotextile manufacturing, bank protection contracting. The technological and professional centre of the LakeMind club also operates here.

Our Serbian presence. Biological water treatment, lake and aquaculture services, geotextile products, industrial sludge treatment. The operating model is optimised for email-based ongoing advisory work — one on-site survey, then remote service.
Subsidiary · active from September 2026
Our Slovak presence is being restarted. In the Slovak market we will offer lake and industrial sludge treatment alongside dredging capacity rental — rentable hydromechanical equipment, with or without operator service.
